I saw the below post and wondered if anyone has tried it out.
yes, for memorizing a pack of cards. I use a virtual 17 room memory palace using a P.A.O & Major System. Theres advantages to using Major System, bit if its your first MP, I suggest making CLUBS= 2 - Ace, use Male Famous Musicians. DIAMONDS= Richest People in World. Spaids= Baseball Players. Hearts= Female Move Stars(Old Female Stars) Each card has a person, action, object. Ex)Ace of Diamonds+= P~Elon Musk,A~ Launching Rocket, O~ Cape Canaveral…so from a 52 card deck each room consists of a visual image you create, make as otrageous, funny , violent, disgusting, anything that makes it more memorable. EX) First 3 cards are A of Diamonds, 5 of Spades, K of Clubs…1st card is Person i.e Elon Musk…2nd card Action i.e Greg Maddux (Painting Corners)…3rd Card Object i.e K of Clubs, Prince (Electric Guitar)..
So your first room is Elon Musk - Painting - Electric Guitar [Create image in Room #1] throgh 17 LOCI. Use whatever PAO you like, and if u have a deep understanding of Major System even better. Sounds a lot harder than is!
1.) Become exceptionally familiar with the 17 Loci
2.) Create then tweak your PAO with cars and drill that till memorized without thought
3.)Within 7-10 days,an hour a day, and in 10-14 days you’llbe able to do it in 10 minutes, in a month about 3-4 minutes
In your example, isn’t that 3 separate images making it a 1 card system with 3 images per loci?
My immediate take is that this is interesting but the loci positioning is fuzzy and kind of misleading. It’s explained like 13 loci per room and 17 rooms, but my experience is that nothing in memorizing at speed is “free”. There are really 52 (sub)loci per room so you need to be familiar with 884 loci, meaning you’re burning a very intricate palace on every attempt. For speed cards at an elite level this feels extremely worth looking into if you’ve done a 2-card system and want to be even faster and want to invest the time. I wouldn’t start learning this system with a speed cards PR above 20 seconds, but that’s just my opinion. Tons of people have nearly WR-level pace with 1-card PAO and system fluency trumps all. The time investment would be massive but I think the ceiling is correspondingly promising
Lsten if you can memorize 52 cards in 20 seconds then your definetley using a method faster than mine. I just started and it takes me about 4-5 minutes… I use 17 Loci and memorize the cards 3 at a time
Say 1st 3 cards are 4 of Diamonds, 2 of Clubs and 2 of Spades so my first Loci would be P= Warren Buffet A= Moonwalking O= Yankee Stadium
Diamonds being rich people, Spades beong best Baseball Players, Hearts being famous Female Actresses and Clubs are famous Musicians
I can form the images pretty quick, but like i said i’m just starting, quite sure theres faster ways to do it. Any advice im all ears!
Thanks, Jay
Okay, My Ace of Clubs is P= Michael Jackson, A= Moonwalking, O= On Stage…My 8 of Diamonds is P=Steve Jobs, A= Introducing, O= iPhone…Then my And my 3 of Hearts P= Grace Kelly, A=Driving, O= Convertible Cadillac
So if your first 3 cards are Ace of Clubs, 8 of Diamonds, 3 oh Hearts…
So the image I put at my first Loci is Michael Jackson, introducing, (the new) Carillac Convertible.
Basically I just picture Michael Jackson standing next to and introducing a Shiny new Cadillac Convertible!
I hope this helped explain it, it works for me. There are far more experienced people on here that probably have better ways, it works for me because I only need 17 Loci. I used Spades for the best Baseball players, Hearts for best Female Actresses, Clubs for best Musicians and Diamond for Richest people in the world and form an image for every 3 cards and the image is easy for me bc at each loci I have a Person performing an action, and an Object (usually a location)
The example I gave you ws pretty bland, naturally your hoing to want to make your images as outrageous, violent, funny, sexual, anything to make it more memorable! Hope this helped, good luck ![]()
believe me your opinion matters. I’m not putting pride before results. I used the the 3 card PAO from a YouTube clip. If you can direct me to a system or a system that you use that will raise my recall level, therefore much faster times. I hate to ask but if you could point me in the direction of how you memorize a deck of cards weather it be a link or a short synopsis and example I’d be more than grateful!
Thanks, Jay
Believe it or not, it really is just one-card PAO for a lot of people, exactly like you’re doing it. three cards per location, 15-17 loci (sometimes competitors will “grab” the last few cards, putting them in short term memory instead of fully encoding them so you don’t need to put it at a locus.) I might be wrong on this, but I’m pretty sure that Shijir’s still-standing WR is just PAO and i think Naser and Vishvaa have both said they use PAO.
There are also systems where people make one image out of two cards, which means you only have 26 “images” whereas one-card PAO will always be 52 images (or image components, or whatever.) So a potential three-card system would only have 18 images total. a potential way to get even faster maybe, but i don’t think the limit for PAO has been hit.
I believe same goes for 2 Card System, limit hasn’t been hit yet.
But yeah for most it’s like when a drill gun is enough to make a hole in wall, why put max efforts into making an Excalibur and try to make a hole with it. Just put more features in drill gun instead.
Ahh no, I don’t use PAO, rather I put two objects after the person, So it’s POO
