Thank you these are very useful!
I don’t know if I want Trump in my head though :grinning: I’m already hoping to replace Rob Ford (089) as quickly as possible…

So, I’ve taken a break (but kept drilling the cards in anki)… but I’m back to it, this time with the 500s
I’m missing some of them (in bold). As always your help would be hugely appreciated!

are you looking for person list and not objects? Is it okay if it’s anime fictional characters.
I have 000-999 list of characters. in two categories (phonetic based)
• 1000 - real world characters
• 1000 - fictional world characters
• 1000 - all objects, animals are part of object lists. (this is what I use in memorizing numbers)

Yours : S/Z N M 523 snowman

  1. from my real world characters : sonam (one of my classmate, you can consider it as sonam kapoor actress)
  2. from my fictional world characters:
    sanemi (demon slayer, hashira)

S/Z M F/V 539 Asimov

  1. real world characters :
  2. fictional world characters : smurf (whenever there are more than three consonants and r in it, I consider it as silent and pronunciation would be smuf, it’s not like I have lots of rules. there are only 3 rules and it’s one of them)

S/Z k/g P/B 548 ???

  1. real world characters : ciguapa (myth) I use it (if you don’t know about it can try succubus as well
  2. fictional world characters : scooby (Scooby doo)

S/Z S/Z P/B 558 sassaby

  1. real world characters : suspect(of crime)
  2. fictional world characters : zazabi

S/Z ch/j P/B 568 ???

  1. real world characters : sashboy
  2. fictional world characters: Sasha braus (attack on titan)

S/Z T/D L 571 Staline

  1. real world characters : sydel, stella, stelly, estella
  2. fictional world characters : satella (re zero)

S/Z T/D S/Z 575 Satsuki

  1. real world characters: cetus (myth), stacey
  2. fictional world characters : zetsu (Naruto)

S/Z F/V M 593 ???

  1. real world characters: swami (vivekananda), savimbi
  2. fictional world characters: seraphim (one piece)

S/Z F/V k/g 594 ???

  1. real world characters : sevak (godservant
  2. fictional world characters : sawako (from me to you)

S/Z F/V P/B 598 ???

  1. real world characters : sweeper
  2. fictional world characters : seviper (Pokemon)

S/Z F/V F/V 599 ???

  1. real world characters : sophie
  2. fictional world characters : sophie (howl’s moving castle)
Like I said I have 3 rules in my system, the second rule is whatever word that ends with i, or ee sound , it’s previous consonant letter will be doubled
so like sufi, is suffi basically.

S-N-M - San’man (sand man, don’t pronounce the d, I know its not perfect. Snowman is a perfect fit, maybe change your L-F-F to something like “leaf fan” and it could be like a servant of a pharoah who just stands and fans)

S-M-F/V - Symphony (conductor or musician)

S-K-P/B - Skibidi or Skip or Scope (sniper) or Scooby-doo

S-S-P/B - Sassy boy (misbehaving kid), suspect (police lineup)

S-SH-B - Sasha Banks (wrestler)

S-T-L - Steel (superman)

S-T-S - Stasis (person in a coma or deep hybernation)

S-V-M - Save Me (woman tied to train tracks like in old cartoons)

S-F/V-K - Civic (any memorable political leader), So Fake (anyone you think is egotistical and superficial)

S-F/V-P/B - Civ Planner (a shadowy advisor, like wormtongue from lord of the rings, a civilization planner)

S-F/V-F/V - Save Fire (fire fighter)

Thank you both for your excellent suggestions! The 500s are now complete… They still are some I don’t like much, but I’ll see with practice which ones work or not and if I really need to make changes (I’m often surprised).

Yeah the title of the thread is unclear because, with using it in practice, my system changed even before I finished filling up the list

I’m using one keyword for each number. For example you suggested Savimbi, so the person is

and the object is

because Gallo Negro was one of his nickname.

Sometimes the keyword is an object, which I make into a person. For example in the end I chose safebox for 598, so the person is

(I imagine a safebox who is starving and is going to eat all your valuables and refusing to vomit it back)
and the object is

(a normal safebox)

I just updated the document for my full 2704 list to share all my words. If you want to have a look, you can browse through by sound. I try to prioritize objects, so its mostly those, but there are usually a few options for each including some people options.

Thank you Tim, I appreciate it!
Actually I like objects a lot, because I find them easy to anthropomorphize them / give them personality.

Same for me! People get “blurry” for me oftentimes during recall unless they are VERY unique.

cheon ma (korean term for heavenly demon) - very famous webtoon character.
Jin mu (you can find many persons named jin mu, chose what to your liking)

jinbei (one piece manga/anime character) - one of the famous straw hat pirates run by captain luffy , teammember.

Cham fau (knights of the multiverse character , a fairy)

judges (you can imagine where judges for it, or jojo-5 => giorno (there are many jojo protagonist characters, and giorno giovanna is the 5th one)

jeff bejoz - I like this one.

I don’t use real characters that much, I have 1000 real and fictional characters database I had made over the years in the past. I don’t remember, but I mostly know my fictional 1000 lists. when I will reach at home , I can look into it just it case.

Thank you both! Some very good ideas here, I really appreciate it… The 600s are now complete except for 665 (ch/j ch/j S/Z) - I don’t want to use judges because I already have judge for 66 and judgment for 663… I’m sure I’ll find something eventually.

I’ve begun the 700s now, probably we post again when I’ve given it a good try and am still stuck on some.

“Cha-chas”… flamenco dancers?

Well… I already have mambo for 338 which would be too similar.
But I could take tchatchas as in different kinds of this:

Aaaand the 600s are complete!

@Hari-P, I wonder, is the work invested in creating and remembering this list worth the results? What are your thoughts?

It depends what you are using it for.
I’ve been using a 2 digit PAO for about ten years now and it was enough.

These last few years, I’ve been undertaking bigger projects, and I’ve been wishing for a 3 digit PAO more and more, to be able to encode references and dates with only one element.

It’s a big investment (not to make lightly), I don’t think I’d be motivated to finish it if I wasn’t already using the numbers from the beginning of the list and enjoying how simpler my images become with more compression.

But I would definitely recommend beginning with only 2 digits and see if it is enough for your needs.
