Remembering Numbers: Decimal Points and Spaces Between?

I’ve started using a PAO system to memorize numbers, and was wondering if people had methods for remembering decimal points, and for breaks separating out numbers in a series?

For instance, if you wanted to remember the numbers in the periodic table, how would you visualize the position of the decimals in all those numbers? And if you had a long sequence of individual numbers (i.e. 1945 358 483 290444…) and it was important that individual numbers be kept separate from each other, how would you go about that?

It occured to me that you could just have a person to represent a decimal point (maybe Desi Arnaz?), and another person to represent a space, but I was wondering if there were a lot of decimal points and spaces if the repetition of this one person might lead to confusion in recall.

Thanks much for the help - apologies if this question was asked recently, I’m new to the forum, but looking forward to participating.

For instance, the atomic weight of hydrogen is 1.008.
In the PAO system I use, Tarzan is 1, the action “saucing” is 00, and hoof is the object for 8.

How might one indicate the decimal falls between the 1 and the 00? The method might get a little repetitive, as every number in the periodic table has a decimal. Maybe it would be better to just have a general understanding of where it the decimal falls within the table, which elements begin with a single digit, and which begin with two digits.

Also wondering how one might memorize fractional numbers with a PAO system…

I use a small pebble as an image for a period. I also have images for 0-9, 00-99, and 000-999. I don’t use PAO, but just have a single image for each number.

Examples:

1.008 – candle (1), pebble (.), sofa (008)
1945 358 483 290444 – woodpecker (19), werewolf (45); maifun noodles (358); Raymond (483); Nusrat (290), Roth (444)

(In the example, the images are separated with commas and locations are separated with semicolons.)
