I intend to start a big project regarding mnemonics, I'm studying for university entrance examinations, and I'm intrested in developing a vast and reliable memory palace which shall contain a lot of information from different topics of human knowledge (history, literature, philosophy, etc). Has anyone ever done this? Matteo Ricci comes to mind, he supposedly used it from an early age as a tool for studying and storing information, I'd like to follow his example. My way of thinking is that if I'm going to develop my memory and improve my visualization skills it might as well be filled with useful and practical knowledge, I don't see the point of memorizing thousands of random numbers just for the sake of it. What are your thoughts?
