Josh- I have been using the Memory League site for the past day or so and I think it is awesome! I really enjoy the head to head competition feature.
Question about the site - It looks like a high score of mine was inputted to the memory league from the XMT website. Can you briefly describe how the XMT site and memory league are linked together Will attempts on the XMT site be used to calculate scores on the new Memory League? Thanks
Once the Memory League site is fully live, the training and competitions will happen there. You won’t lose your previous scores.

How is the software coming along? I am interested in it for training my memory. Some of these techniques are difficult to apply.
We’re working on it, and it’s looking great so far. We’ll continue rolling out functionality over the next few months. Some is already available at Memory League. We’ll be able to post an update in February.

I’m interested to pre-order your memory palace software for a two-year term… However, in Europe we are not used to pay by credit- debitcard. As such I couldn’t make the transaction. Would it be possible to make the payment through Ideal somehow? Or just to book it to your accounts?

At the moment, the two ways to pay are by credit/debit card or PayPal. If you aren’t able to pay with one of those methods, do you know someone with a credit card who could order it? Some countries also have pre-paid credit cards that might work.

January 23 you stated you’d post an update in February. I haven’t seen that and am just wondering on the progress. I know software developers don’t like to estimate release dates, but you have stated previously that you expect March. Is it still on track for release this month? I’m very excited to try out the memory palace aspect of the software!

Someone need to hit up Bill Gates or Google for a couple of million sugar daddy money for a good cause. Maybe talk to the guys at khan academy and get some tips on corporate fundraising for a worthwhile purpose.
I really think that early education in mnemonic tools and mental calculation could help learners use the intelligence they were born with far more productively. As an adult, it is a struggle self-motivating but if we beat these skills into children while they are still malleable I think that their effectiveness in acquiring and integrating knowledge, and turning it into real skill would be enhanced. I wish someone had forced me to learn mental calculation, abacus, and mnemonics when I was 8 or 10.
A couple of master’s thesis or PhD papers that could science the ■■■■ out of this would be nice to get demonstrable numbers on performance, speed and volume of acquisition, and recall. I think this would be a good place to start in terms of justifying funding at an academic level.
That mnemonics lies in the fringes as card memorization and parlour tricks disappoints me.
…Still, I live in hope and anything you push out is an improvement on what we have to work with. I can also appreciate the level of commitment that it takes to keep a multi-year project moving forward with limited funds and time.
In terms of content creation I suspect that you might be able to shout out to the community you have created. I suspect much of what is required is data as opposed to code and that quite a few of the people here have stashes of stuff that could be edited or massaged into the application more easily than having to create the IP from scratch. Alternately people could be incredibly passive and you could get little or no response other than passive consumption (but it still might be worth a shot if you can get a few helpers for short periods of time without it taking up a lot of your cycles.)
