Hi, my name is Geovani and recently I’ve started studying the game of poker seriously. I am currently using the memory palace method + Anki for spaced repetition, and I was wondering if this is sustainable long-term.
Is there anyone here that has successfully built and maintained a memory palace of tens of thousands of loci? Because that’s roughly the amount I’ll need. How much time do you spend reviewing each day?
Looking forward to your responses and advice, thank you.
Using this stuff for poker seems like an interesting idea. What is the approach and what are you trying to memorize? Some sort of variant of counting cards? Sorry if there is something obvious I am missing…
As for massive memory palaces, there was a thread some time ago about a massive memory palace by a guy named Gavino I think. I still don’t really know how to link yet so you’ll have to go to the search bar up top. I think if you use those search terms, Gavino massive memory palace, it should get you to the right place. It seems to me that that approach could be extensible into the size you are thinking about.
Yes of course, I didn’t mean one long journey, but many fragmented journeys / rooms. Is it doable, though? I’m up to about 150 loci now, and so far so good. But I was wondering if it’s maintainable at all once the loci grow too much
I have got 108 Memory Palaces with around 6000+ loci…In order to organize and maintain them,we can adopt two different methods. One is to create a Virtual Memory City like in this link 1.000.000-loci Memory Palace . Another is to use “Alphabet Peg Lists”.
