10s Speed Cards vs 100,000 digits of Pi

Well, I’d be surprised if it works. Probably putting 3, at most 5 images per loci if you have excellent visualization skills, is still quite a lot. Could you please let us know how it goes once you learn a few hundred digits this way ? Maybe I’m wrong about this. If you tried to memorize things before, how many images did you place in each loci and what were the results ?

I still didn’t use this for digits, but I used 5/locus for words event in ml,my best score is 49/50 words in 39 sec,it works well,by the way,as I have much time 10 works well too

According to Alex Mullen’s breakdown a few top athletes have used 5 per locus for words. But for numbers they only really use 2 or 3 from what I’ve seen, and certainly not 10 - that is far to many for a single locus

Words equals to number image,so it will work, today I tried to associate 20 words in a single locus,it works freely for me,so I will wait and start the process later :slightly_smiling_face:

That’s nice that it works for you. Good luck with that ! Let us know how it goes on a longer time-period

Back when I was first starting out, I made a somewhat similar mistake to the one you just did. I even posted my opinion about it in this forum. Years later, I’m now confident that you’re wrong, at least in part. It’s true that many people could theoretically manage to memorize 100k. Many, but nowhere near “anyone”. And it certainly isn’t easy. You can’t just extrapolate from what you can do in 5 minutes or what someone else can do in an hour and perform a simple multiplication. The amount of reviews that are needed is insane. Your brain needs time to change and durably incorporate all those new stories into your long-term memory. Even with your extremely high skill level, I’d be very impressed and quite surprised if you could make it to 40k with perfect recall within a month. You probably would make it to 100k eventually, but it would take much longer and be much more difficult than you seem to think.

My personal answer to the original question: 10s cards is more impressive in a way because it has never been done so far. Such a feat would require a lot of skill and perseverance, but also some rare form of talent that I and most people certainly don’t have. On the other hand, I subjectively still prefer 100k and I think it’s much cooler ( : Perhaps it’s because I admire grit and determination and perseverance even more than I admire other types of feats.

memorizing 80 numbers Is not the same as 52 cards. Speed Cards is way difficult!!!

  • Reading a 3 digit number is faster, 2 cards are 4 caracters and not arranged linearly.
  • Speed Cards need 2704 images, in the case of andrea 2.704 persons with actions in his
PAO. 3 digit system is 1.000 images. 1.000 images.

So, 80 digits will always be faster practicing the same amount of hours.

My guts tell me that OP will one day become the best player to grace the field. I wonder how he’s faring…
