Why we remember music and forget everything else

My reading of the article is that it’s a combination of emotion and repetition.

I can say that I for sure remember the melodies without remembering much of the words

And I was always fascinated, like “wow, I can remember this earworm melody in my head and I can barely remember any of the words (although I get a feeling of what kind of words or sentiments were going on)” I even know which notes have syllables, and how to “sing” the syllables, yet don’t have the actual word-pronunciation of the syllable. All tones and rhythm, and the letter-sounds are quite vague

I associated a theme song with all of the actions in my 00-99 PAO and I like them a lot. Sometimes the theme song even eclipses the action.

It probably will make me a bit slower for competitive memory to add these extra tags but I think it will benefit my long-term projects.
