What techniques and from where to learn them

I just noticed that there was an answer to this question in another thread:

This is what i understand to be the main technique in order to memorize books.If i have 650 places 650 files can i memorize 6 books 650 pages long?And be able to recall from them or i`m going to need more files? Thank you
