Hi there I’m just a fellow student aiming to remember large amounts of information. The problem is that I don’t believe I have enough loci to place the information so I’d like to ask for some help. Mostly about Gavino’s Memory Palace. I’ve read the forum post but I don’t fully understand it. Could someone please clarify what it’s about or just summarize it.

Basically, there are a lot of places in your mind that are just small and don’t have enough loci to use like normal memory palaces. Movie scenes, random rooms, hotels, etc. You can stuff a normal memory palace with these small ones, and then you have a larger memory palace.
Small location has lets say 5 loci on average. A normal palace has lets say 30. You stuff that normal palace with small locations in each locus, and then you have one huge organized palace made up of small palaces that holds 150 loci.

You have a journey of 10 locations. You also happen to remember 10 scenes from this movie ‘Unthinkable’. In each of those scenes, there are multiple locations you could place images in. You put those 10 scenes into the journey that has 10 locations.
Now you have a memory palace of 10 scenes, each of which has multiple loci, and you just progress from one scene of the movie to the next as you fill it up.

Could the same be done using virtual palaces e.g google street view taking in 5 loci and placing it in the base memory palace?
Yep. Just to clarify though; you want each locus of the base memory palace to hold another ‘mini-palace’ that has multiple loci(3-12). Not just a single one.

the way which works best for me is to use a familiar, generally square/rectangular room, and apply the “Roman Room” pattern and just put 10 items (only) in that room. If you have a huge palace, what I would do is chop it up into multiple Roman Rooms. I find using a huge palace with 50 sites paralyzing (paralysis by analysis). It would be fun to be able to use huge palaces with a bunch of loci, but it just makes things too complicated. 10 per room is nice and clean and simple which works best for me. As a bonus, I can keep straight what item is in the number 8 position without having to think about it.
