Very nice, I can recommend Adorno’s Lectures entitled Introduction to Dialectics (“Einführung in die Dialektik”) as a secondary resource.

Updates |
Chess: I got up to the 1400’s and then got a serious bout of board blindness and spiraled. Still working through it though and learned a few new techniques.
Writing: Working on a rough draft at the moment. Wrote up a post on basics of Aztec Philosophy.
Note: Had a migraine for a week and now I’m behind on everything. Will catch up soon.

Updates |
Chess | I ditched chess.com for lichess. The main reason was it shows where I’m weak in puzzles so I can focus learning those skills.
Writing | Doing good, I’m working on a new piece analyzing various ecological ethics and I’ve gotten up to 59 pages of modernized text for ‘The Art of Physick’.
Herbalism | I’m studying a new lecture series as part of my prep for clinical herbalism.
Ladino | Starting back to class this week. Having a bit of trouble with conjugations. Going to start focusing on that.
Scottish | Started a new course! https://www.gaelicwithjason.com I’m currently doing the one on the Witcher and highly recommend it.
Productivity | I’ve completely switched up the system. I’m using Remnote and TickTick, along with a bullet journal and it’s working way better than anything else I’ve tried. Bonus points for the fact that I can attach all my readings to my todo list items and read them on any device.
Constellations | I downloaded an app called ‘Star Tracker’ and use it every time I take the dogs out at night. Last night I spotted Jupiter, the big dipper, orion, and the north star. I always practice looking for the constellations from the previous trip to make sure I recognize them as they track across the sky.
I’m still recovering from the holidays. Like some January just feels like a long recovery from December but I’m trying to get back up to speed.

Updates |
Been a while, I lost my email account that I use to log in. All is fixed now. I got almost nothing done, due to a series of family emergencies. So, at this point I’m just going to start all over from scratch.
What I did accomplish however was building out my digital zettlekasten in Obsidian.
I’ve also started some higher level herbalism courses from the North American School of Medical Herbalism and when it comes to Latin, I’m also starting over but my new method is working flawlessly and my reading comprehension has skyrocketed. I’m using ‘A Companion to Familia Romana’ and making a deck that includes translation exercises, grammar points, and vocabulary all mixed together. My current goal is to get through 1-2 chapters a week. I’m on Ch. 6 & 7 this week.
I also started creating mind maps on any difficult topics and writing up herbal research monographs. I’ve almost got my Bestiary finished as well and plan to start using it this autumn. Oh! I published a book too!

Sure, so when I first attempted LLPSI Familia Romana I did it with a group online and got to ch. ten or so before I could no longer keep up. There’s this belief in LLPSI circles that one can speed run it in as little as week and know the material. I am not one of those people. 
So, I got the companion guide which breaks down all the grammar concepts. Each week on Monday I read through the companion guide and mark anything that I know I will have trouble with and make Flashcards on those and the vocabulary. Then when I read the chapter in Familia Romana, I circle any phrases or sentences that I find difficult. I turn all those into cards for translation practice. I also check my comprehension while reading with Google Translate’s camera function just to see if I’m going in the right direction. Flashcards I do whenever I feel like it or I have dead time in the day. That’s pretty much it!

I’m back! Sorry for the long delay. My pc died about 5 different ways before catastrophic failure of the motherboard. I switched operating systems, I replaced the harddrive etc. I ended up having to get another pc. My laptop even died a while back so I was left without tech for a while.
Latin | Latin is going great, I ended up taking a break from LLPSI and switching to ‘Latin by the Natural Method’ by Fr. William Most and lots of reading. So far bouncing between the two textbooks and readers is really working well. Reading skills are skyrocketing but my translating (english to latin) and writing skills are non existent. Will be tackling this soon.
Attic Greek | I’m running a study group in January and will be building out an intricate Lukasa board soon to cover the grammar.
Writing | I finished and published ‘The Art of Physick’. I’m now slowly writing my own book ‘Rotscapes’ and modernizing another herbal on fevers.
Gaelic | This is currently a passive skill. On weekends I work on Glossika pronunciation and basic reading practice.
Herbalism | I finished the lecture series I started over the summer and I’m starting it’s sequel ‘Vitalist Treatment of Acute Symptoms 2’.
Productivity | Constantly in a state of flux. I’m trying to get as much put into Obsidian as possible. Remnote is no more. I have a calendar, kanban board for weekly planning etc. I’ve also started the whole ‘personal curriculum’ trend to keep me on task seasonally.
French | Twice a week maintenance. I was on the edge of completely losing the language. Rosetta Stone and ‘Le Français Par La Méthode Nature’.
Middle Egyptian Hieroglyphs | I completed an entire lecture series on this and now I’ve joined a study group on GlyphStudy to work through the textbook ‘How to Read Egyptian Hieroglyphs: A Step-by-Step Guide to Teach Yourself’.
Memory | I’m on the hunt for some passages and quotes to start memorizing. Haven’t found any that really resonate yet. Currently finishing up a 65 days of Rilke reading challenge ‘Duino Elegies’ & ‘Sonnets to Orpheus’ I might pick one of my favorites at the end to memorize.

General Updates |
I’ve been researching how to learn Attic Greek efficiently and I think the best way to memorize the paradigms would be to use a combination of the Ranieri-Dowling Method w/ Memorize By Heart app. That way I have all the audio for the paradigms.
I’ll also be using that app to memorize some poetry. Right now, I’ve decided to memorize ‘Sometimes A Wild God’ by Tom Hirons.

Hi, trying to help my daughter here, could you give advice on the most efficient way you found to memorize declensions, both greek and ladin? i started with a palace with 6 loci’s room (for ladin) but when the rooms become more than 2 or 3 it becomes a bit difficult, so now i’d like to experiment with a paper palace with just six person (12 with plural) representing case, to whom we will attach images for the endings. and change the background of the same scene to change declensions from 1 to 2nd etc.
do you have experimented any other idea?

Latin:
- Hard Mode: Lukasa Board w/ Ranieri Dowling Method.
- Easy Mode: ‘Latin By The Natural Method’ (teaches it bit by bit) and Memorize By Heart app.
Greek:
I’m still experimenting with Greek. One thing that works for me is doing something creative with the charts. Whether it’s a lukasa board or a reworked version of the grammar.
Below, I’ll show you something I’ve been working on that uses an embedded story mnemonic. I’m no artist, but getting that grammar into a spatial/ visual form really does help me feel like I have a better grasp on it.

- Taking a bit of a holiday break. I’ll be subscribing to a premium account on "Memorize By Heart’ next month to work on my grammar. As well as, memorizing a few poems and quotes.
- Been really working on my Zettlekasten lately. Trying to get caught up on my literature notes. I’m 4+ books behind at the moment.
- Wrote out a deep study plan for Ecophilosophy and Herbalism.
- Over the holidays I’ll be working through ‘Getting Started with Ancient Greek’ to get my reading back up to speed. Haven’t read anything in Greek since 2020.
