Hello, everyone.

A long time ago I read Tony Buzan’s Menmonic-Book “Use Your Memory” and built my first memory palace with 100 loci back then, combined with the major system to number it. Now I want to go deeper, bought some more books and grabbed the “magnetic memory method” course from Anthony Metivier.

I found a wonderful map of “Mont St. Michel”, a small french island, which I want to become my next memory palace, since there are also videos available about that place. (Though in my memory it will be medievil with some aspects of fantasy, science fiction, steampunk and some ninjas, to fancy the place up a little bit.) Will take some time though to populate the place and find the right furniture for every house and theme.

I guess, it was Anthony who brought me here via a link in his course. I already read a lot here and am happy to have found this place. In a few hours my vacation flight starts, but I guess, I will be here every now and then, when not at the beach.

Have nice vacations, too. <3

Introducing myself and my goals. I am Ajay, I am a software professional. I am looking at ways to improve my productivity. I realize that I don’t have a habit to recall or try to remember when I am reading or listening. I am interested in:

  1. Some techniques or practices I can follow to get into the habit of remembering and recall
  2. A simple “get started guide” to choose a set of effective techniques and follow a “time table”/sequence to things to practice. Say a 15 day x 30 min course.

Hi to all from my lovely tropical island :sri_lanka: :whale: :parrot: :elephant: :snake: :monkey:

I have finally joined after lurking here for a few years! In that time I have picked up many tips from our knowledgeable posters, and inspiration too.

I have been chipping away at a long-term project, that of memorising the Odyssey. Now that I am nearing the end of book 3, my very optimistic goal for 2025 is to complete book 4, which is by some distance the longest one in the entire epic.

Good luck everyone with your memory goals!

Hello everyone, I am a new member that just joined yesterday. I am very happy to be starting a new chapter in my life and advancing my knowledge and improving my memory. My question is, I have adult ADHD and I am 55. Will this at all be a hindrance? For me?

Check out the how to learn memory techniques page. The free ebook explains the basics.

I don’t think it will be a problem. There are members here of all ages. There are also some discussions about ADHD.

Hello everyone!
I’m originally a software engineer who recently got back to school after many years being away. I’ve discovered that my memory for studying and other school related things has been stale and out of practice for a while. It’s time to get it back in peak condition.

Whatever pre-formatted systems you learn will be of great help. The more good varied and unique systems you learn, the better you’ll be prepared to attack learning different types of knowledge.

The ultimate goal is to devise or modify your own custom developed systems and keep doing that to enable yourself to become self sufficient and be able to teach others what you’ve discovered.

I don’t think of mnemonics as a hobby, but rather as a necessity. I work where my hands are often full, wet, or sticky and need to have everything precisely memorized to do my job properly.

Hi everyone! I’m new here and from Portugal. I’ve been experimenting with memory techniques and recently memorized a list of coworkers using an alphabet peg list. I’d love to connect with others to share tips and stay motivated.
