Hi, I want to study computer science, learn C and work in embedded systems
I like to put up work upfront to have a better performance down the line.

So training one’s brain seems like one of the best long term investments there is.

A post was split to a new topic: Crossing paths in a memory palace

I find this discussion very helpful. I’m 77 years old and have begun using Memory Palace techniques. I find using different rooms as Memory palaces in different pieces of furniture for lists, I am able to remember five breeze statements in Spanish. Using five different topics. For example, introducing myself. Asking for menu items, I’m very interested in discussions on Memory and the Memory Palace

I am here because I have begun using Memory Palace techniques with some success. Which I enjoy because I’m 77 years old and my doctor said I should do some memory exercises. Which I did not like. But Memory Palace techniques are great and I enjoy having recall. I’ve also recently heard about virtual Memory palaces. I’m looking forward to more information on this.

Hi everyone,

I’m just in my twenties and have been struggling with frequent forgetfulness. While it might be simply due to absent-mindedness and inattentiveness, I’ve decided to take on the challenge of improving my memory.

I’m excited to learn from all of you and to explore the world of mnemonics. Looking forward to sharing my journey and hearing about your experiences!

I’m starting my memory training journey today. I love reading and I want to be able to retain everything that I learn. Also, I need to train my memory to be able to learn faster neuroscience concets that I require for my Phd.

Welcome in @Thunder!

I’d love to know what got you started on the journey!

Obviously retaining “everything that I learn” is a tall order, but then again, so is everything awesome worth doing! :stuck_out_tongue:

Drop a forum post about what you’re up to and your experiences regarding memory techniques. I know you’re not the very first person to explore mnemonic/neuroscience cocktails (metaphorically, not literally… unless…).

Another neuroscience (and mnemonic) buff here is @DeliberateDopamine.

Also, I dig the topic and like seeing how folks utilize memory techniques for textbook and conceptual knowledge.

Welcome in!

I also started with Harry Lorraine - about 40 years ago, when I was a new Ensign in the Navy. But though I’ve known techniques for decades, and have used them off and on, I never truly committed myself mastering any, despite always wanting to. And so here I am.

Happy to join this community. Excited to communicate with like-minded people. Definitely want to use memory techniques to become a more learned person. After all, how can you be wise if you don’t remember.

Hi everyone,

I’ve heard that this forum is very helpful, and a relative recommended that I join. This is my first post here, and since I’m new to the forum, I have a request: if I get stuck or need assistance, please help me out.

Thank you!
