Hello, I am struggling with a memory issue, specifically finding it difficult to recall information. In the Iraqi curriculum, we face a major challenge with the massive amount of content required for memorization.

The biggest issue is that revision feels even heavier than the initial memorization because the real difficulty lies in reviewing, not learning the material for the first time. I find myself revising the same topic multiple times just to get it to stick. I tried using the “Memory Palace” technique, but I found that I even forget the palace itself very quickly. Because of this, I switched to writing things down, though I plan to give the Memory Palace technique another try.

Is there a way to fix this problem? If anyone reading this has deep expertise in the Memory Palace technique, could you please connect with me through social media/messaging apps to help me study by explaining how to properly apply it?

I am really asking for help—I am trying my absolute best to memorize and learn so I can earn a degree that will build my confidence to pursue my studies abroad at renowned universities.

Normally, when starting out with the Memory Palace technique, it’s advised that you use places already familiar to you like your home (places you won’t forget).

Do you mean you forget loci in the palace or you forget the palace in which you stored the info? Both problems can be solved by taking specific note (by writing or otherwise). That is, you can have a notebook where you write loci and information stored there as a backup for when you start forgetting the palace.
