So I don’t know if there is a thread about this yet but… I wanted to talk about what we know about Wang Fengs system. I’m not convinced that he uses a 2 digit system and a 4 digit per image technique. I know he describes it in that video, but I feel like he had to to avoid getting to esoteric. When I describe my methods to everyday people I avoid describing my 3 digit system because it gets complicated. Plus a 4 digit per image approach is really fast to get 480 in 5 minutes. Well it’s not so bad the speed (about 2 seconds to form each image), the real issue is amount of images (120) and lots of repeats. He’s maybe reviewing the last minute or two, but then he’s facing a serious speed issue. I dunno. Maybe other people have investigated this further…
You could be right. It sounds incredible to get scores like that with the system he describes. Multiple decks with only 100 images is difficult. ![]()
I’m still looking for his email address…
I’ve been analyzing everyone’s technique and Feng’s in particular.
I don’t think he uses any other secret techniques other than the one he has shown in his interviews. In the Japanese show, he writes the numbers in sets of four, 2 by 2. Also he had a file with powerpoints of his 2 digit images with him.
I think the fact that he has been training for more than 7 hours for one and a half year before the competition which has made the difference.
Do you know of any videos of him at the WMC in action with numbers? Where you can see him writing in digits in competition?

Found one:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iOA4bAREjJM at around 1:12…he’s writing digits down in groups of 4. Nice.
Incredible… ![]()
You’ll find that in all his videos, competitions and interviews, he writes in 4 (2 by 2).
Btw have you swapped your PAO for a 3 digit system?
Yup I did switch! No turning back. ![]()
Man oh man!
And how is the new system working out?
Are you thinking of participating in the Cambridge competition? Will you be ready in time?
