I know the US states and capitals by rote now (wasn’t aware of memory systems for places etc) but now I want to learn them in order of their statehoods and also their nicknames, ie:
1 Delaware Dover The First State
2 Pennsylvania Harrisburg The Keystone State
3 New Jersey Trenton The Garden State
4 Georgia Atlanta The Peach State
etc.
I have started to do this with the major system and all my images will have Abraham Lincoln in them so I know it’s a US state (1 = Tea = Lincoln drinking tea out of a Tupperware cup on the White Cliffs of Dover, 2 = Noah = Noah using a pencil to draw an Iceberg on the ark while Lincoln unlocks the ark with his keystone… etc)
Is this a good way to do it?
I have recently learnt the elements of the periodic table, in order, in this manner using the major system pegs and Dmitri Mendelev as my chemist and main image (to associate the pegs with chemistry).
Can I continue to use the same pegs and different key people to differentiate topics or will all my pegs/images blur into one.
I am fairly new to memory techniques and haven’t experimented much other than the major system.
