Q: Can anyone point me to their favorite tool for searching entertainment characters (e.g., movie, TV, play, book, comic) systematically Even a long .csv file would be great.
This forum has many links to helpful resources for searching famous people (usually by initials). But I have more success with my person images when they’re particular characters. E.g., I’d rather use the character “Toby Flenderson” for my “18” than the actor “Paul Lieberstein” for my “95”. I just have more of a feel for the character than the actor. Also, a single actor will play many characters, which can create confusion for me. That’s not an issue with single characters.
Bingo. I found exactly what I was looking for. This tool generates a .csv of all fictional characters listed on Wikipedia. 139,742 characters in total (after filtering out some junk rows).
I was able to find 72 fictional characters with the initials “AE”. That’s a pesky one for my hex system.
