My artificial Loci really worked for me. I have created 20 point artificial memory palace and Memorized 80 random numbers in 5 minutes with only two wrongs, which is my normal rate. So I can say it really worked and it’s really good for me. As it take only 30 minutes to create them first time.
I will add the technique if people are really interested.
So here is my simple technique. First take your home or any home for base image. Go for the outside. We won’t go inside that home. We need a roof, right side of the home, front side, left side and back side. Clean your image. A home like your home or nabours. It will be totally white coloured. We will create 10 locus here and now make your second home. It will be the same as first one. But it will be total black. Now the locis… we will create them by alphabet… first home ROOF IMAGES - A. Antena B. Bed C. Car RIGHT SIDE IMAGE- D. Dragon FRONT IMAGE- E. elephant F. Farm LEFT SIDE IMAGES -G.gabage can H. A hero like Superman I. Igloo and BACK SIDE IMAGES J. Jungle now the second black home images ROOM IMAGES- a. Alien b. Playboy bunny c. Huge pile of charcoal d. Doramon RIGHT SIDE- e. Eagle f. Your father FRONT SIDE- G. A BIG MACHINE GUN h. Hitler I. A Inca people holding bow and arrow LEFT SIDE- A huge jet plane.
imagine them vividly. The best way is draw them in exercise book. It will take 5 to 10 minutes. Then to memorise, star from the Antena and go clockwise and end in jungle. Then go to second black home and start with the alien {your 11 th loci} and end with the jet plane {your 20 th loci}.
trust me it really works like natural ones. Ask me anything. The good thing is you can make them as much as you want. You just need exercise book and a home for base image.. Suryasekhar, I can understand you are very enthousiastic, but please do keep it down. Text in all caps sounds like shouting, and your title looks like something from a spam message. I also don’t really see the point in bold text here.
I myself am a visual thinker, I already need a memory palace with images just to remember the order of the alphabet. Basically, I make all my memory palaces in the sims, it allows me to create a lot of different buildings. Some people like to draw their new ones, some might use minecraft. The problem for me with your system would be just that, I can’t see it, there is no logical connection and the first few days I’d have to think of the alphabet to remember my memory palace.
To me, making a memory palace takes 15 minutes if it is an existing place, a few hours if I still have to create it from scratch in the sims, but that sticks incredibly good with me. Yesterday I added the first 120 loci to one of my newer palaces (with 200 loci) and they all sticked very well, before writing this message, I took a walk through the memory palace and recalled about 145 of the loci without any thinking of “what did I put here?”.
Everyone creates their memory palaces differently, because everyone’s brain works differently. There are no ultimate ways that work for everyone.
@mayarra thanks for encouraging a newbie like me [with your personal talking style]. Title changed. And the bold letters are the product of my bad coding. I just wanted to break the line so I used b code. And I am not a visual. I am a synasthetic like Solomon Shereshevsky, fivefold synasthesia…ok I am kidding. I am a visual too. I have no problem seeing it. I used same system to create 100 Loci. And I have no problem recalling it with precise order. Because I am using them again and again with new types of building. That’s the fun. You don’t need new locis.create 40 Loci and use it again and again and again in new buildings . for me creating the first Loci took me 30 minutes and after that the second phase took me 15 minutes. When I made 40 locis , after that making new locis and memorising them took me 15 minutes for 40 Loci. And I can remember them like real ones . personally I don’t like video games, feels like waste of time. So I can’t make locis from there so I had to create a artificial one. And I never said that it’s the ultimate system, anywhere in my post. Did I? So whoever likes it use it, whoever don’t, don’t! I just shared. This is a forum right? Your earlier title made it seem as if this way of creating one would work for everyone, so hence my comment on that there also is a topic where you can discuss the way you make a new memory palace, which is still active at the moment. You can go see there what other people do, and maybe get some inspiration from it
I am currently using this. Because this is working great for me. Yes I want to develop a system that anybody can create. And I am working on it. I am trying testing it. Working to make it usable to everyone. As you can see this technique is greatly inspired by lenier verbatim method. It works really great for me. I want to go totally virtual. Because we give time to make it so it became concrete in our memory. It’s my experience.
Thank you for contributing your ideas to the forum. It sounds you’re having good results with it, so that’s great. Do I understand you correctly that you are attaching permanent images to your loci (with the images being different for your black house vs. your white house)? When you memorize, do you then take your images from your system and place them alongside, or interacting with, your permanent images? Or am I totally misunderstanding you?
@tracym thanks for asking. Yes these are totally permanent images. These are permanent locis. I am only taking the outer space of a home and placing artificial Loci from 10 to 20(depends on how big the home is). Moving and using in a clockwise manner. Both black and white house are same and I am actually using a single house double time. When I memorise, I just interact with them. For example when I memorise 7153 I see a ‘kat’ drinking ‘lime’ when a alien came and beat it with his Lazer beam and drink it’s lime. You see I am involving them. Trust me, if you try it, you will know that it’s really easy and it’s not tough memorising the artificial locis. Actually its much easier to memorise them. And when I want to create another set of Loci, I simply use a different style home and use the same locis but put them in a different manner, but in a alphabetical way. I spread them. They don’t mess with each other. Like when we use same locis in different journeys.

India? Sure. Why not. I am using it daily for study. Using on geography history international relations political science is easy. Economics I have never tried. First download the Anki flashcard android app. It will help you memorise the major system. Mastering major system will take one week. And in that time practice the chain method by memorising random numbers. Just tell me whatever help you need. Always happy to help

I have a fair idea of peg and linking system and yesterday I read about memory palaces but how can I use it for my study and when should I need to revise it…
Ok let me explain. In my opinion, for geography it’s better to use linking rather than Loci. Like when I am memorising Africa - 30221532 km. Location - 51’24" east 17’33" West 37’20" north and 34’52" south. East Lohit sagar, indian ocean. West Atlantic Ocean. North bhumaddha sagar, South Indian Ocean. Total states 56. Important city - Cairo Alexandria Khartoum etc.
What I do is I make a whole image Using peg and chucking and linking. I put all the information here. And then I put a trigger picture of this whole picture in one or two Loci spot. I revision it within 24 hours and then within 7 days. And it became concrete. Whenever a picture troubles me I just change it. Let me know…
Memory palace is fairly simple. Take your bedroom. Select some objects from there. Now use it. Suppose you want to memorise gandhi death year 1948.so in my system 48 is roof. And your bedroom Loci is your bed. So line roof with bed. Picture gandhi was on the roof and it broke. So he fell down on the bed and he became dead. Like this.

I send my number in personal message. Anki is a flashcard app. It used for speed memorising or revision. Put your question in one side and answer in other side. If you want to memorise pegs then just put the number(eg. 57) at one side and the answer (eg. Lake) at other side. Ok?
