The ultimate guide to Logarithm

A nice little article on logarithms for those who like to read about such things.

Wow. Glad you like it! The 9 properties of logarithm should be more than enough for the vast majority of people. If you’re into pure mathematics, logarithm on complex numbers can be fun too!

Currently working on remedial grade 8 math so the ideas of log/power/roots and irrationals are at the top of my list right now.

I’m still noodling on the geometry of this and the imaginaries. It’s a shame that mental approximation (or not) keeps appearing in such nice ideas. I keep hoping that if I bend the numbers the right way in my head that they will become more malleable. Sadly I lack talent and youth.

Off hand familiarity with some of these ideas makes them seem trivial but when you take a little time to think about them they can turn into quite a mess in your head.

I tend to think that applied/discrete/statistics Mathematics and the age of the computer have focused our talents in general on the concrete rather than the abstract. Although pure math may have always been seen as useless. It’s certainly no good for making money or impressing pretty girls.

I wish they taught me that in high school. In college I had to learn all of it by myself from my textbook. Now you can just google it or enter the right webforum.
