For its worth? I don’t think the rhyming peg word system is of much value though. How do you take things from 13 through to 99 using rhyming pegs?
Your number shaper is a far better route to take. There is a someone called Erol on this forum who is credited with devising such a system. If not mistaken, Erol offers a set of pictures of the images he uses for numbers 0-9 and 10-99. Perhaps you can conduct a search to find it or else somebody may paste the link directing you to the post I’m referring to?

For what it’s worth—probably not much!—I find the rhyming/shape peg systems most useful only for memorizing 10 or fewer items in a list. There is no way I would want to try to take it beyond that for my personal needs. For those situations, I prefer using the Major System. (I even swap out 7 for the Major System’s “cow,” since, for me, “heaven” yields a very weak image.)
But there’s nothing wrong with using your own system that may be a combination of rhymes, shapes, Major/Dominic associations, and even personal choices. For instance, my “12” is always a clock with both hands pointing to twelve; my “31”—because I’m an American, where we celebrate Halloween on October 31—is always a carved Jack o’Lantern; “14” is always a big candy heart (for Valentine’s Day, February 14).
I will say, see if you can find specific, meaningful examples of the rhyming peg words that have some relevance for you. It’s one thing to think of a generic shoe for “2.” But it’s more memorable if you can imagine a favorite shoe—a specific brand, something that has a personal connection to you. Instead of just “tree,” see if you can picture a specific tree—maybe something you planted with your parents, one you climbed as a child, one that has meaning to you. Those personal connections will make the images much stronger in your mind than just relying on someone else’s picture of a tree.

RMBittner we could call such a system of peg words “Intuitive System”. I have such a system 00 - 99. Interestingly my 31 is “Guy Fawkes Mask”. The Goatie Beard and Moustache form the number “31” but a “Jack-o-Lantern” would arguably work just as well when associated to 31st Oct = Halloween.
Many people also use a Major System PAO as peg words. Funny enough I googled the word “pegging” (to check out an ‘action’ or a ‘verb’ for 97 = PG Paul Gascoigne (Person) - ‘PeGGing’ (Action) - a PiG (Object). I never knew that ‘pegging’ has a sexual connotation, meaning that Paul Gascoigne was not pegging a pig on a washing line but was doing something quite bizarre with a pig. I’ll leave that one there!

Just to clarify: My “intuitive” associations are the exceptions. As a rule, my 0-99 associations are based on the Major System.
