the sound alike method.
Like any sequence of strung together sounds, whether it’s a foreign language or made up gibberish, we can use associations to remind us of a sequence of sounds. Fun!
What’s it mean?
Hello Mr. Sherlock we meet again ![]()
Success
Failed
Making it fail
Those who support failure
It means many things like that, in fact, I have not seen anyone who knows the exact meaning until now.
Can you teach me the sound similarity method? I’m hearing it for the first time.
a quick example using this section:
What does muvaffakiyetsi “sound like”?
First I break the sounds into smaller sections and attempt to find other words (that I know) that sound similar.
muv - aff - a - key - et - si
To me this sounds like:
Move - off - a - key - Yahtzee
Note: If this were very important to me, I might double check the International Phonetic Alphabet for more accurate pronunciation.
With that, I can imagine a scene where I’m yelling at a Yeti playing Yahtzee who is sitting on my house key.
“MOVE OFF A KEY YETSI!”
This is genius!
You seem like a very experienced person. How many years do I have to work to become someone like you?
@beau2am
It’s not about years.
It’s about making effort and sleeping well.
If you keep pushing yourself further and further and constantly push yourself to make even more effort PLUS you get good sleep, you can be quite effective at this rather quickly.
I’d say it’s possible to surpass me in much less than 3 months if you challenge yourself regularly and sleep well.
I’m not very fast at this (faster than many people, yes, but I don’t train very hard for speed. I’m very casual about it).
3 months is a really good time. I’m thinking of starting a 100-day camp soon so I can show people how much I can improve.
