Does anyone have a tattoo lukasa or memory palace style things that they got tattooed purely for memory purposes?
I realize that a lukasa is usually a mnemonic device that is meant to have physical touch as part of the mnemonic for storage, but it was something that I was curious if there was anyone dedicated enough to make more of their body memory palace.
Well, boring story: I often look down at my forearm tattoos and think, “man, I should use these as loci,” but then…I never do!
Unless I was using my body as a kind of winter calendar (I think that’s what it was called? [channeling Lynne Kelly]), I think I’d be hesitant to add tattoos with specific mnemonic purposes in mind – like, anything I would think to tattoo on me I probably know well enough without the tattoo, but I do fully intend to use my existing tattoos for mnemonic purposes eventually.
