During quarantine, my family decided we would put on TED talks for each other at home. It was entertaining (we were desperate!) and topics were varied, but of course mine was about memory techniques.

Thank you! I used an iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil. I used screen record with audio enabled to make the video in one take. There are definitely some blips in the video, but I didn’t feel like trying to figure out how to edit it!

** just realized I forgot to mention the app. It is Procreate.

This post reminded me of how Jonas von Essen memorised the south American countries. Just gonna cross-post this here in case people want some more inspiration for how it can be done.

Printable list of countries and capitals by continent

It seems to be common to memorize the world’s countries using a memory palace, arranging them in some logical order. Harry Lorayne mentions another method in one of his books, where you use the shapes of the countries to link them directly to the world map. (This is the method that I guess most people use for remembering Italy.)
