Should I read "The art of memory" by Frances A Yates?

I read that “The Art of Memory” is about History.
Of course, I want to read anything about the art of memory and I will read this book, but there are other books that I want to read before it.
Should I prioritize “the art of memory” before them, because it could improve my technique or give me some other special advantage?

Thank you for reading this, and hopefully, thank you for your answer

It seemed like Frances Yates never tried using memory techniques, so it doesn’t contain practical information as much as history. It’s a great book that is worth reading, but it might not directly improve your techniques.

I’d second what Josh says. The book is excellent, but there are better sources if you want to improve your own memory skills. You might consider (forum member) Lynne Kelly’s Memory Craft if you want a book which connects practical techniques to historical contexts.

Thank you, both of you ^^
I already read Memory Craft, and I loved it.
