Rugbys radical memory journal, jingles and journey

so i don’t know if just anyone can make one of these, but uhh, yeah! this is basically just my journal and stuff for me to try and learn. ill also keep progress here to as best i can

Also !! if anyone knows if there are rules towards what cannot be put in the journals (other than obvious topics like in basic rules) and possibly an amount to how many posts are able to be put out there in a day and all (as i dont want to accidentally spam by responding in other categories and so forth)

welp i forgot this existed ^^; oops … anyways tho, im so very glad its the weekend now… however i got broken up with so thats kinda a bummer :frowning: but it’s okay!! 2 years down the drain and it all clogged up in what was wrong with them led me to realize why I can’t focus on much else. so now i just can try to metaphorically reinstall a new sink and keep it empty for a while (aka romance free lol)

oh also!! ive learned that when i draw that i learn it easier but i get frustrated if it doesnt look “good,” could anyone give a perspective on that maybe? i havent quite found an art style that i can understand, but how can you find a style if you cant see visuals when you try and stuff??? idk, im just rambling at this point i think … anyways, i hope everyone has had a good week and all, and if any1 wants to chat send me a message of ur messenger or facebook ^^ !

You can post information about your memory training and anything else you want to share. If it’s too frequent for some people, they can also “mute” the topic with the settings on the bottom of the page.

Do you mean something like aphantasia where you don’t see images when you close your eyes?

woah!! i wouldve never thought that the creator of pixar would have it :open_mouth: ??! this is really interesting !! ive been finding new ways and one i’ve kinda been using thats working is what im calling “pull from the draw board” and basically i go ahead and find things i already like, but then learn more about history, context, people who did similar things, finding things relating to the topic, and so forth!!!

How is your technique going?

to be honest, it hasnt been working, ive tried 4 others, each with enough time for them to actually encode stuff into my memory, but none has actually encoded and stuck… i don’t know what I am doing wrong, and it is honestly beginning to frustrate me :frowning:

If you write more details about what you tried, someone here might be able to offer tips.

welp, i forgot that this existed, again.
i’ve decided that before i start memorizing that i need to find a way to build a memory palace thats preset and visually in front of me in some way, so… any ideas? I have tried drawing it, tried to go basic with a chair to visualize, the drawing worked as a base ground but it isnt … sticking with me? open for suggestions

I’m not sure what aphantasia is like from the inside. Maybe if you could figure out how your mind holds information about directions and events, you could try to hook into the same cognitive structures when making your memory palaces?

Example: imagine walking through your school (from class to class) or the journey from your home to your workplace. Analyze how your brain is storing and retrieving the locations on the journey. Memory palaces hook into the same way of thinking.

I’m not sure if it would work — just brainstorming.

Another idea is to use more repetition when learning the memory palace route. Keep walking through it while looking at your sketch or notes until you don’t need the paper any more.

goooood morning!

I hope everyone has been doing good! This morning I am going through different interests to see what would be best for me to start out for memorizing!

So far the topics I have leaned toward:

  • Bug species
  • Planets
  • Elements of periodic table

Yo yo yo! Good morning everyone  ! I think I am starting to make some progress, especially with the bug species!!! If anyone has any tips on how you organize time to practice, that’d be awesome!

i forgot again :C… but!!! i am learning bugs names so this is progress

Today is a new start! Im excited about remembering these names of the bugs, so honestly, im thinking about naming them off here, maybe ramble or something… I dunno :stuck_out_tongue:

True Bugs (Heteroptera) are probably the more interesting parts that I have learned so far. I really have always loved bugs, so I honestly dont know why I didnt try this topic out first.

Heteroptera are insects that have two pairs of wings, the front or outer pair of each divided into a leathery basal part and a membranous apical part. They also have hypodermic-needle-like mouthparts that allow them to extract subsurface fluids from plants and animals.

I really think that I might try and do something with bugs one day, maybe a job or something, I do not know for sure though.

A few examples of the heteroptera species are:

  • Brown marmorated stink bug
  • Kissing bugs
  • Nepomorpha
  • Cimicomorpha
  • Gerromorpha

Im really proud of myself because learning how to spell the last three took a lot of memory intaking and so forth, I am just glad that I know it is working!!!
