Remember date in stead of picture

Ok, so i use a memory palace with the major system to remember birth dates. On Every locus there are 3 images; 1 for day, 1 for month,1 for year. It works quite well; i remember the locus of the person, i remember the image on that locus (sometimes the order of the 3 image is difficult but with some logica i usualy know the right order),and so i can (after translating the images) remember the dates.

The thing is; i never actually remember the date itself. I remember the images whitch i first have to translate to numbers. The idear of a memory palace is that after a while, the info you want to remember is in your head and you dont need the mp anymore to recall. So what should i do to remember the numbers itself instead of the pictures? Am i missing a step?

Thanks!

I don’t know if it’s just me, but to me the Gregorian calendar is itself a memory palace. That’s where I put birth dates, and other types of dates, and after a while it is indeed permanent. I think of the person, the date is right there. Don’t know if this is optimal for anyone else, but there it is.

It is my experience to always remember with the pictures: whether numbers, book materials or basically anything. I only manage to be picture independent when I practise ‘natural’ repetition (continous exposure from retrieval for use or coming across the info in its raw form contnously). I think someone on this forum mentioned 20 reviews to transition but I have never tried this:joy::joy:.
