I was wondering how people train when memorising numbers. Obviously, on solo number training a succession of numbers are given over sixty seconds and then you recall them. If doing this over and over are people placing number/images in different loci each time they attempt the exercise or are they using just a story method. For example I imagined a cartoon plane ----loci = tail, wing, engines, pilot window and so forth. Think I managed 18 out of 24 on that one. But what now? I want to continue trying over and over again so do I mentally “wipe plane clean” of images and try again or create something else - or is there a better method.
If you train using the same memory palace too soon (could be a few hours or a few days, depending on the person) your images from the first attempt will linger. Most folks call them “ghosts”, and they’ll confuse you when you place a newer image on top of it. If you’re making more attempts in the same day, it’s best to use different memory palaces for each attempt.

The to practicing more is creating a lot more memory palaces. Ghost images go away a few days later then you can reuse a memory palace. I don’t recommend creating temporary memory palaces. If you are going to create memory palaces, put effort into making them and keep them forever.
