I am memory athlete ( doing it since 7 years) currently I am doing PhD in economics .
I am also facing issues in night I feel like I am gonna die and have this panic attacks and feel my body is paralysised can’t move it . I have faced this issues from 2020 but the frequency of it has increased in last few months every week I face them multiple time I can’t sleep because of my anxiety fear and nervousness . I think it’s happening because of our negative visualisation of things as we are highly visual and we literally feel our visualization?
Does other memory athletes do they also face same problems ? I have seen podcast of usa memory champion john graham where he also shared that he also faced similar problems
Could you guys please help me or suggest how can I recover from this I can’t sleep and feel like someone gonna kill me .
This does not sound like a normal side-effect of memory training. I urge you to seek guidance from a qualified licenced medical professional. This is not something that random people on a memory forum should be advising you on other than to discuss it with a doctor. Wishing you all the best.
Okay. But really what @TheHumanTim said is completely right. This kind of situation is supposed to be a medical advice by the doctor,or physiologist or even a neuroscientist. But here is what I’m going to tell you. I want you to look up the word “savant Syndrome”. Yes, as a memory athlete you have maybe kind of develop the unique abilities of a savant. So maybe you are experiencing this savant intellectual impairment side effect… I don’t know much about the syndrome off memory but look it up and maybe compare…
But like @TheHumanTim said it’s a medical advice that would be really helpful… Goodluck pal
