Practicing Freestyle rap with mnemonics

I have been fascinated for a while by people who are able to improvise complicated and quick rhymes in freestyle rap. And i was pondering a system for learning large amount of word rhymes.

Someone correct me on this, but i think that if some word x rhymes with y rhymes with z then x rhymes with z, in most cases anyway, this means that a grouping of words with certain endings is possible.

So i was thinking of using 1 memory palace for each of those groups, for example i could use a Salon for words that rhymes with HAIR, examples:

Chair,
Air
Pear
Spare
Bear

Then placing an image for some of the words you want to have in your vocab in the room, after using it a certain amount of times, you would start to picture what is in the room when given one of the images in that room (the rooms should not be extremely large, but contrain enough loci for the amount of rhyming words needed.)

And this Process could be used for the most common word endings, which would mean you could end your sentence with a word ending with something that you have created a (small) memory palace for, and therefore quickly know some words that rhymed with it.

Its just an idea anyway i havent actually tried this, but maybe its effective, maybe its too slow.

I don’t think that it will help you with freestyling. Memory palace is built in such way that it is difficult to use its content as fast as you need to. You have to feel the rhymes, not remember them. The rest will come with practise. Listening to others helps as well.

A friend of mine is a pretty good freestyle rapper. He told me he has a set of words he can always, well almost always fall back to and rhyme/rap from that word. He doesn’t use any tricks, he just does have a big vocabulary and he practiced a lot, with a lot I mean, 2-3 years semi-daily.

Can’t tell you a lot about mmenoics since I just started, it’s just pretty fortunate I know a freestyler.
