Physics Units

Hi…

What method is best to memorize lists of units like this one:

http://physics-help.info/physicsguide/appendices/si_units.shtml

You have been a member on this site now for 38 weeks. I assume you know the basics.
Did you experiment with method like Loci, PAO, Major?
If so, what is your method of preference?

If not, I suggest you start now. These techniques are the basics Without experience in the techniques, none of what I can say makes sense. Start here: How to Learn Memory Techniques | Art of Memory

There are a lot of threads about how to memorize specific data. Give me an example you find difficult and I will tell you how I would memorize this.

Also, know the theory behind it.
If you know that force is measured in Newton, then it makes sense that surface pressure is measured in Newton per meter. Stuff that makes sense is easier to remember.

Memorizing that list is very very easy if you know my system.

My M is always Mario or Madonna.
My A is always Akon or Ashanti and so on.
All my K’s names start with Kenny. Like Kenny G, Kenny Roger etc. All my A’s names start with Adam.
So, if I see AL I’ll picture Adam Levine or Adam Lambert instead of Abraham Lincoln. I’m always specific.
I have all the images memorized. I can send it to you if you want.
If you memorize all the images it’ll help you in memorizing any formula.

From the site you gave.

Example: Mass = m = kilogram = kg
I’ll picture Maddona(mass) Killing(kilogram) Kenny G(kg)
Remember I’ve memorized all the 676 alphabet combinations, so I don’t second guess.

Example2: A. Linear Position = x,r = meter = m.
I’ll picture Louis Prima leaning on Xavier Rudd’s metronome.
Example2 B. Linear, Distance = l,d = meter = m
I’ll picute Louis Dower lengthening his(l,d) metronome(m)
Example2: C. Is radius which is R. You don’t need any mnemonic for that.

Example: Linear angle, Angular position = θ, = randian = ran
I’ll picture Louis Armstrong & Adam Pascal holding each others ankle while they write the TH sound Randy’s body.

Example: Magnetic flux = (signnotfound) = weber Wb=Tm2=Vs

I’ll picture Michael Faraway flushing cobwebs in Tom Virtue’s toilet. (Tom Virtue is a twin = t*m2)
Let me explain.
Magnetic Flux = Michael Faraslday flushing. Cob.web = Weber(wb). Wb=tom v’s (change the o in Tom to * and change the ’ apostrophe in Virtue’s to *)

I can go on if you want. Tell me the particular one that’s giving you problem.
