Let your intuition guilds you!
Memory trainers use all the techniques they feel most comfortable.
When I build my pao, I had gone through the process like u did. I read others example and then started my own. I used nearly half year and found out I wasn’t doing well in recalling them. One memory league player reminded a fact: skyscrapers built from ground. If u can master p a o either one well than u can start on next level pa, then finally pao or others.
To examine ur skill reciting pi is a good idea.
Back to track, all the three ways u suggested, I tried and included in my pao. I mean it is not necessary matters. Just choosing either way u feel good with it and when u do testing readjust it to what u feel better with.
The above was my training record in Pi with PAOX (similar to pao I don’t want to mix u, so no explanation here).
As you see PAO sometimes get into some weird combination, but training will increase ur connectivity.
True. But i would relly like to avoid learning 100 actions just to change them later, when they would not work as planned. But yeah: testing, testing, testing… sounds like a sound plan But looking at PAO’s of others there seems to be no problem for our memory with method no 1: **
Person - action made with an object - that object
Orlando Bloom - shooting a bow - bow
Eric Clapton - playing a guitar - guitar I know that this is very subjective, but is my observation correct?
Still mindblowing to me. And thanks for the link to the app.
Sorry for the late entry into the topic: What you are exploring is the approach that I take as well. If it’s helpful this is how I’ve set up my cards:
Tens digits follow the edges of card signs: 10s - Spades (One sharp point), 20s - Hearts (Two bumps on the top of the heart), 30s - Clubs (Three round knobs), 40s - Diamonds (Four points).
Ace through ten maps the same tens categories as my 00-99 PAO. E.g, 30=10 of Clubs, 41=Ace of Diamonds, 22=2 of Hearts.
Create additional images for the face cards separate from your 00-99PAO. This keeps the digits clean by card suit rather than resetting a suit in the middle of a tens string, or having a suit cross a tens string.
Actually, it doesn’t matter in terms of memorization, but it does MATTER in terms of recall. What I do mean is if using more common sense like u said queens are female, u can probably recall faster!
Let me also share you an interesting fact in my PAOx, I separated all Person in ODD as male, and EVEN are all female. I found this quite adaptive in the recall.
I thought of doing the same but had too many problems finding memorable examples. It’s easy to find people with right initials for males and females, but much harder to find ones with memorable & distinguishable faces+actions+objects at the same time for specific numbers.
