I have been using PAO for numbers for some time now and my scores seem to have stagnated, I even seem to be getting worse. (This is one of my reasons for wanting to switch to a three digit single component system. I just don’t feel like I can achieve a lot more with my current PAO). One of the issues I have with PAO is what I call ‘abstraction’. The phenomenon where at high speeds, I focus only on the action and object not reallly seeing the person because of focus on action and object. Leading to regression to the person again. Example 24 90 67: My thoughts are more like: Harry Potter climbing a suitcase, who again? Oh, Harry Potter
.
So I thought, ‘why don’t I use this to my advantage?’ so 24 90 67 becomes broomstick - climbing- Young Sheldon. Which I actually imagine as Young Sheldon climbing a broomstick (now, I think of it, objects acting on people may make interesting images
, I will try that). The only thing is that the reading order is reversed allowing me to place the object first on the locus leading to a linking between locus and object and also see the person last leading to more noticeability.
I am still just trying it out. I just wanted to share this idea in case any other person was having the same kind of problems.
PS: I know using PA, PO or any two elements in one image method may solve the problem but when I tried them I was not used to them so I did not use for a long time and I don’t know if I want to store only four digits in an image. I guess I still have to get used to PP, PO and OO arrangements for the three digit system I may or may not complete
.
