I just started reading Harry Lorayne’s The Memory Book. I haven’t seen a chapter where he goes into how to memorize formulas. I found some topics on the forum; but, am not sure which one to use for memorizing mathematical formulas. Here are the topics I’ve found:

I’m trying to learn the PAO system; but, it’s different from the PEG system I’m already begging to memorize. Which one should I stick with? Thanks!

Basically I’m trying to find a PEG system for math operations with the variables or constants in either the Major or Domininc system. Whatever is more comfortable.
I’ll try to give you a simple answer. I use memory techniques to learn and remember facts. I sometimes use them to remember dosages of drugs, so there are numbers involved too.
I believe that PAO is a far robust system than a simple PEG system and that’s just me because you can do much more with a PAO. Like with PAO, a simple image is enough to memorize 6 numbers instead of 3 images like with a PEG system.
Plus you can create 4 images for the operations. Just use the first thing that comes to your mind.
I just thought of “glueing together” for addition, “cutting up” for subtraction", “replicating like for a virus or Mr. Smith in Matrix” for multiplication or “crushing” for division. I just thought all these up in less than 2 seconds.
So memory techniques are not that difficult to learn.

That is awesome. The gluing, cutting up, and crushing are great action verbs for this. Could you please explain how you put 6 numbers into a PAO image, please. Thank you.
