I’ve locked in most of my PAO but there are still a few that I have trouble with. I was pleasantly surprised to find how easy it was to swap images out. I focused on speed with small numbers of digits for a couple of weeks and managed to get 36 digits in 50 seconds. Ive changed tack slightly and am currently trying to get my translation / fast reading speed down to 60 seconds for 200 digits. (Yan’s training post suggested 30 sec for 100 digits as a reasonable goal)

How to Train for the USA Memory Championship

Among all the competitions happening around the world, my 3 favorites are the USA, Welsh and Cambridge/Friendly Memory Competitions. I always wanted to go to one of the competitions here in Europe but each time I was either, not well prepared or did not have time. I ‘work’ full time at the hospital, in addition to my studies. I also experimented briefly with an OPA system. It might be faster at constructing compund images but it will be a couple more months before I know for sure.

OPA system? I don’t believe that I have heard about that system. Enlighten me.
How memorable are the PAO’s you are having trouble with? How well do you associate them with those numbers? Maybe you could drop the O and keep it as PA. Maybe that’s assumption on my part. I am just a rookie giving his opinion.
