You can check out p. 10 of the Rules:

“Seeding will be done according to the Season Scores Leaderboard. Players without a
ranking will be randomly seeded on the remaining spots.”

Cool

I have questions about the upcoming World Championships:

  1. when will it be approximately?
  2. it says that the best 16 are qualified. Will position 17 fill in if anyone of those 16 doesn’t want or have the time to compete?
  3. If yes. I share position 17 with Guillaume. Whom of us would fill in? Would we have to play a match for a decider?

Actually, I also have a question regarding upcoming World Championships. In the beginning of the year, the rules looked confusing to me. I thought Top 16 would be based on 4 Best Individual results for each category. That is why I took the first Slam very lightly.

Later, I realized the rules, prepared better and qualified for both Slams. Now, I have 885 points which is only 190 points away from Top 16 (If I participated in the first Slam seriously, I would be in Top 16 now).

Anyway, I would appreciate if there is a small Pre-Qualification period, so there is a chance for competitors like me to get qualified.

I have already sent this request to @Simon

Orkhan

Hey Orkhan,

I was curious if qualifying for the first Slam would have really helped you gain 190 more points. And it’s a clear yes but only if you would have beaten Simon in Round 1 of the Slam

The reason for that is that you cannot just add potential points to your current score. Let’s say you would have gained the maximum of 325 points for your qualification then you would have these scores for all qualifications:

PAO: 325
AOO: (290)
AEO: 325

AOO is in brackets because only the best two scores from the qualifier count towards the ranking.
So your qualification points that count for the WR would be 650!

In the actual WR you have this

PAO (0)
AOO 290
AEO 325
= 615

That mean you would have earned only 35 extra points here.

Same for the tournaments. Right now you have this:

Season 11: 35
Season 12: 35
Season 13: (35)
PAO: (0)
AAO: 100
PAO: 100

Only 4 of these count for the WR = 270, with the 615 from above you are now at 885

If you would have played the first Slam and lost in the first round then you would have this:

Season 11: 35
Season 12: (35)
Season 13: (35)
PAO: 100
AAO: 100
PAO: 100

Makes it 335 points instead of 270 you have now.

So IF you would have played the first SLAM but lost in the first round you would have:
335+650 =985 and only 100 points than now.

I hope all of this gives also others a better understanding of the World ranking.

Hey Johannes,

Thanks for explanation. It seems I still got the calculation wrong before writing the initial post. Now I understand that I had to also fight for going to higher Divisions (Division 2, lets say) to increase my scores. Knowing these factors would affect my strategy, for sure.

I understand I had to read rules carefully and ask when I was unsure. But having a second chance would be nice.

For the upcoming World championship event; would there be some color indication on the “World Ranking” tab inside World Tour?
So you can see potential canidates for the upcoming Competition?
