Memory Decay - Visual Representation of 'Importance' Diminishing with time

This image is one slide from a talk introducing memory systems. It’s merely an effort to introduce graphically the idea of the equal rate of diminishing memory or importance or brightness or - anything that we perceive with our senses.

I’ve found that people all appreciate that light and sound intensity drop off at a rate equal to distance squared, because that’s the way our senses work. However they do not realise that all of human senses work in this way. Including how important something is (such as a fact) or how vivid a memory is - all our other sense operate in exactly the same way without intervention (memory systems help reduce the rate of decay for example). Feel free to use. If anyone has similar original images please share.
