I hope I’m posting in the proper sub criteria excuse me in advance, but my challenge is memorizing words with abstract prefixes at the beginning and end. Does anyone have any experience or advice on the subject?
For awhile now I’ve been memorizing off a Vocabulary game of mine, and I notice I have a slowdown when I hit words like…
- Un-appealing
- Thrill-ing
my mind seems to have a hard time turning words like -un into something tangible.
I was thinking about creating my own method for dealing with these prefixes like turning each one into
an object or action, but perhaps there is a method out I am unaware of. Please let me know what you think? ![]()
ex.
- in- = hen
- ex- = x-ray
- -tion = shun
- -rior = rear her
