My aim is to memorize In search of lost time by Marcel Proust. For that I need too many rooms as this is a 3000 plus pages epic. I am running out of memory palaces and need your help in finding new palaces. If you were in my shoes, how would you approach this issue?
Thanks in advance
Isn’t it much longer than that? Wikipedia says it has 1,267,069 words.
Are you trying to memorize it word-for-word or just the main ideas?
True. Sorry for the error. It’s a 3600 or more page book. I am memorizing word by word.
What
1,267,069 words.
Impossible, seriously, give up. I’m dead serious here. Go memorize some poems, let’s say you take two seconds to memorize a word, then it would take about 30 days memorizing all day.
But… If I were you I would use churches, temples and imaginary memory palaces.
From the replies, I guess it would take a long time if I start memorizing verbatim. So as Josh had asked me, I would take the main ideas from each page and place them on specific loci’s.
Thank you for the comment.
