Hello everyone, I recently started studying mnemonics, but I can’t memorize playing cards quickly. I created a table of Person action item for each card, but I remember it for a very long time. I practiced with a paper deck of cards and memorized 52 cards in 9 minutes and then with errors. Maybe there are more effective methods, or maybe I’m missing something.

How long have you been practicing?
This is a skill that takes time to refine and improve. Just like learning a musical instrument, you’ll have to work hard on the basics before you can play like a virtuoso.
You’ll need to practice a lot to be able to immediately translate a card into either its Person or its Action or its Object depending on where it falls within the scene.
You’ll have to work your way towards this automatic fluency. This is done through repetition and self-testing. Take a pack of cards and shuffle it and try to recall just the person that you’ve designated for every card. Don’t try to actually remember them in order during this type of practice, JUST focus on getting to the correct person as quickly as possible and picturing them. Then once you get through the deck, shuffle again and try to recall the Action for each. Then do it again with Objects. If there are any cards that you know you struggle with the most, repeat the process with just those cards.
You’ll also need to practice developing your speed for memorable scene construction. This involves actually building a PAO scene for each set of 3 cards. Shuffle up the deck and practice building those scenes quickly. Don’t try to remember these scenes when practicing this, you’re just working on building speed with the process.
Finally, work on attempting some full deck runs and actual memorizing and recalling your scenes. Assuming you use palaces to order your sequences, don’t use the same palaces on back to back days. Give them time to reset so that you can forget their contents and use them again after a couple days. This cuts down on confusion and “ghosting” where imagery from prior runs interferes and merges with a current run. This means you should build out twice as many palaces (at least) as the number of decks you want to try to memorize per day. Palace familiarity and fluency is just as important as fluency with your card images. You will lose time if you have to actively think about what your next location is or how to set a scene there.
As you get faster with recognition and scene building, and you get more comfortable with navigating your palaces quickly, your overall times will improve. The less time and focus you need to spend on those aspects, the more you can put towards retaining those scenes for better recall accuracy.
It takes time, there’s no secret shortcut. Keep working on it and you’ll see incremental improvement. Before too long that will add up to sizable improvement, but it’s not something that just happens overnight.

Back in the days it took much longer time to reach the same results we are able to do now a days. (Just look at results 20-35 years back to see for yourself)
If you are excited over memorizing cards, it will go faster for you! 
Be excited about memo and your problem here will disappear!

Yes, it’s quite interesting to develop your memory. Depending on how the other participants compete and memorize the deck in 15 seconds or the images and numbers in a very short time, you wonder if I can do it too). I’ve set a couple of records these days.

So far, the figures are very low. I don’t know how best to systematize memorization, as palaces get clogged up quickly and I usually just go through all the disciplines every day while I have the strength. It can divide each discipline by days. How can you train more productively?

I kind of abandoned this topic because at first I couldn’t raise my level on the cards. Now I’m thinking of focusing on accuracy and not on time, maybe then I’ll be able to achieve better results. Today I tried to memorize the entire deck of cards on the website, setting 10 minutes, and I did it in 7. So far it’s still too long. Images still fly out, but I feel that it’s easier this way.
