So in the forum there is a lot of information on memorizing verbatim and it seems to be boiled down to using loci. But no one I have found has gone into detail about this. Can I have some example of how to use the software to memorize anything verbatim?
Also my second question is how do you create image mnemonics for words like “the” and “a”. I wish the software tutorials (which are great) would walk me through using the journey itself better and had a tutorial on verbatim text.

@bthorn, you seem to be on the right track. My main purpose for mnemonics was to memorize verbatim text and I’ve gone into detail in many places with many examples. You can search for my posts by my name. Just recently I posted several concrete examples of memorizing the start of a Dickens novel in the post that @smith.francis mentioned here.
Memorizing a larger text requires more planning and I have compiled techniques around something I call the 7711 system that you can also search for.
As to memorizing the minor words of the text like “the” or “a”, I find that it’s not too necessary as I review the text often and the passage flows well from memory.
I do have to stress that there are no easy shortcuts, in my opinion, that reduce full text to a simple code other than what I mentioned, and have found no one to challenge me on that opinion.
