Memorizing letter by letter?

I have created this(for polish alphabet):

CREATURE: OBJECT: PLACE:

A - ALIEN - AXE - ALPS
B - BABY - BONE - BEACH
C - CYCLOPS - COMPUTER - CAR
D - DEMON - DOOR - DISCO
E - EINSTEIN - EMERALD - ETHIOPIA
F - FARMER - FANG - FOREST
G - GHOST - GARBAGE - GYM
H - HULK - HAMMER - HOSPITAL
I - INDIAN - ICE - CUBE - ISLAND
J - JESUS - JACKET - JUNGLE
K - KNIGHT - KEY - KITCHEN
L - LIBRARIAN - LEGO - LIFT
M - MUMMY - MACARONI - MOON
N - NURSE - NETTLE - NEPAL
O - ORANGUTAN - ONION - OCEAN
P - POPEYE - PHONE - PRISON
R - ROBOT - ROCK - ROOF
S - SPIDERMAN - SCISSORS - SOLARIUM
T - TARZAN - TREE - TENT
U - UNICORN - UMBRELLA - UTOPIA
W - WIZARD - WALLET - WWW (WORLD WIDE WEB)
Y - YETI - YEAST - YEMEN
Z - ZOMBIE - ZIP - ZOO

Example:
HOMER = Hulk eating onion on moon with Einstein eating rock.

Is it possible to remember that way?

Oh gosh no. I mean yes, it would work, but imagine memorizing this sentence:
“To be or not to be, that is the question.”
With your method, you would memorize Tarzan eating an Onion on a Beach while Einstein eats an Onion on a Roof… and so on.
You could instead memorize 2 Bees flying around buzzing at each other (To Be), then suddenly a red circle with a line through it falls on them (Not To Be), pinning them to the ground on top of a painted question mark (that is the question).

Welcome to the forum Vegan,

If you want to remember like that, I think you should go after a more challenging set of letters to remembers such as xxiekopqkej
As ickathu mentions, there are easier way for known words for which you already know the meaning or words that can be cut into words that you already know. Homer is Home and r. So you might prefer to use Robot for the single r at the end and link it to a home. You might want to imagine a robot home for Homer.
Watch out for your knights as a “k”. Knights does not have a K sound to it.

My two cents,

Simon

I thought of memorizing syllables but it was just too much to make a whole system for that. There are about 700 possible combinations of letters just to make 2 word words. that’s just too much work especially if you can do it like ickathu is pointing out.

I’ve thought about this a little…haven’t memorized a poem yet with it, but was going to try.
Capitals can be a bigger version of the image compared to the others (or maybe some other way to accentuate, like wearing a Cap…)

And once you’ve read a piece of poetry or a saying you only need to remember the first letter of each word (and punctuation like Slide is comma).

T b o n t b, t i t q.

Big Tarzan swings with a Baby who spits up on an Orangutan who goes to a Nurse then Tarzan takes the Baby to a Slide. Tarzan throws Ice at a Tree in Quebec.

The nouns can be the letter and any verbs or adjectives are irrelevant.

But, but… but why use memory pegs? I don’t get it.

Out of the night that covers me
Black as the pit from pole to pole
I thank whatever gods may be
For unconquerable soul.

1 = Coat like shadow covering an empty chair
2 = A pit with an sphere in a pendulum in the middle.
3 = Person in a praying position.
4 = A little flame within an sculpture.

This works, and for me, it’s already overkill.

1+2 = Dark Pit from Super Smash Bross is covered in a dark shadow.
3+4 = Kratos with a challenging of the gods smile.

Dedicate your efforts in strengthening of the association by thought: mnemonic visual with the idea to be memorized.

The memory peg idea is to be word perfect and remember punctuation.

But the same can be achieved without it. Aren’t you underestimating yourself?

Maybe. How would modify your method above to be word perfect with punctuation so you’ll be able to remember it exactly one year later?

make a list in alphabetical order, of people, objects, colors, everything physical that you know, use as syllables, if syllables are missing, just use your alphabet. my alphabet has people objects and actions, actions and objects don’t need to be in alphabetical order, just connect the action or object to the person, each person has only one action or object, it doesn’t need both.

it took me 3 hours to make a list of 500 people, the rest, animals colors objects are in alphabetical order on the internet

(I do not speak English, sorry

just use spaced repetition and recovery practice. It works for comedians, actors and every speaker well enough.

If you want to add some stability, just use a memory palace to store the first word of every long sentence or monologue.
