Hi, I am new here, and would like advice on how to memorize Bridge bidding and playing conventions. For example, here’s the convention for “Opening lead against a Notrump Contract”:
Choose the suit:
If partner has bid, lead that suit
Otherwise, lead the longest suit
With a choice of suits. lead the strongest
Choose the card:
Lead the top of a sequence (3+ touching cards headed by an honor)
Lead the 4th highest card with no sequence
There are many (30?, 40? probably < 100) of these.
