I started by memorizing every person in my 2 digit PAO system from 00-99 through purely rote method. I then associated the actions and objects for each of them to easily memorize the rest. During memorizing long numbers though, I always have to first think of the person before I can remember the actions and objects. I’m not sure if this will fade over time but I was thinking of memorizing the actions and objects through rote memorization as well. Although rote memorization takes quite a lot of time and is very stressful. Any suggestions?
I think that practice will fix that. Have you seen this random number generator? It prints out each 2-digit number once. A good way to learn a number system is to practice reading the numbers and converting them into images. I used to print a few sheets of those numbers and carry them around in my pocket to practice with throughout the day.
Thanks for the comment! So you don’t think I need to associate every action and object with the number separately as well? Is it strange that I can only get an action or object by remembering first the person it was associated with?
I think most starter including me tended to memorize a specific category of things at first. Just like you said you can memorize a person with an action or a person with an object. It is because we have a moment of inertia in memory.
To overcome this effect, practice step by step is important. Instead of climbing a mountain with PAO, comfortable goes first.
That is you might train PA in numbers, while you are feeling better, you can start with PAO, or you can get exel in PA as you wish.
Ok thanks for the feedback!
