I am really new to this. I am studying for a financial exam and am trying to remember dry formulas such as:
Rt-Rt-1 = a*(b-Rt-1)+sRt-1^0.5Et,
Not only do I have to remember the formula itself but also the name of the different letters: Rt is the interest rate at time t, b is a long term mean…
I may have a solution, I am a physics student in college and formulas are a big part of learning. I cam up with a sort of level system, the main level being on the ground, andy subscript underground, and any power or exponent in the sky. I assign each variable letter with a picture of a super hero, the reason for this choice is that there are a lot of them and they stand out from other things. The math symbols like (), +, and - i create symbols for. left parenthesis is always a boomerang and right parenthesis is a banana because of their shape. Minus is a baseball bat and plus is a cross or a yellow intersection sign. All numbers can be remembered through some variation of the major system. After compiling base files for each type of symbol it is just a matter of combining them.
So for,
Rt-Rt-1 = a*(b-Rt-1)+sRt-1^0.5Et
With my files it would be,
The Riddler and near his foot is Thor with mining hat and pickaxe(underground) he is holding one end of a baseball bat, the other end is the same thing because of the Rt-Rt there is another baseball bat on the other side of the second riddler and the 1 is represented by a beer bottle. Equals sign is parallel bars like in the olympics and aqua man is flopping around on those. A Giant boomerang is hitting batman in the head knocking him over. etc.
Tips*
Generally I do chunks of 2 pictures, whatever is first is larger and second is smaller.
Subscripts are viewed as a bracket if they are lengthy starting with a mining hat and ending with a pickaxe.
Powers are viewed as brackets too but starting with a kite spool and ending with a kite.
I’m also working on a system to memorize formulas but I was stuck on few points and also how to make interactions more vivid. Your idea of power levels is very interesting for real.
I would love if you give more examples. Also how you deal with (A/B) in the main level,up and below.
Did you upgrade the system over the years to something else entirely?
Also how do you deal with the formula’s title/use case? For example: Sensible heat law is Q = m · c · ΔT. Do you incorporate title in the story? Locus? Or by route through solving problems?
