Hi. I recently began my memory system journey. I want to make my major system with fictional characters (mostly anime). Is that possible?

Yes it is possible but unless you are going for a specific system that only rely on fictional characters it is not ideal. Mixing real and fake characters adds uniqueness to each.

I have a 00-99 and 000-999 PAO (well 000 to 600, because it’s yet to be finished).
Most of my people are fictional.
Fictional characters are easily reduced to one or two special characteristics, that distinguish them from others and are easy to remember.
(I consider celebrities and such fictional characters, because I don’t really know them except for one or two things they are known for. So I know them just as much as any character from an anime).
People I know irl cannot really be “reduced” as easily to one or two character traits (not impossible, but real people are complex).
Also when people ask questions and I explain what PAO is, if they know I have “real” people in it, they always ask if they are in it, and what I do with them… It’s not always something I want to share, and many find it weird, other embarrassing and a few will get offended. So, since I don’t really see any advantage in having them, I avoid it.
Also you can use objects as people, sometimes I’d say it’s even easier.

As in sushi as an object?
For example I have “nacho cheese” as a person. It’s a bunch of these triangle chips playing in a cheese dip like children in a pool.

But where do you recommend I start my memorization journey?
I want to use it for my chemistry studies. Example memorizing the periodic table.
Also, do you memorize the PAO system or you just use the parts that you need?
If you don’t need it for competition and speed isn’t an issue, it’s perfectly fine to use PAO even without a (complete) list.
In fact, I recommend beginning to use it as soon as possible, even if your system is incomplete. That way it’s growing with your practice, you see what works for you and what doesn’t, and you add to it knowing what your brain likes best. It would be very frustrating to spend lots of time building a list of 100 (or even 1000) to then notice that it doesn’t work so well.
The only thing you need to think about and decide in advance is if you’re going to use a shaper system, some kind of phonetic system (like major), etc. But once you’ve decided that, you can start using it right away, filling up your list on an “as needed” basis.

I did that but now I am using major system as a stepping stone to learn all pokemon since they are all numbered.

However I would change a few of them:
6 = Ash (pokemon)
31 = Meowth (pokemon)
48 = Rafau (orb on the movements of the earth)
85 = Phil (the promised neverland)
49 = Ruby (Oshi no Ko)
62 = Shion (Hell’s Paradise)
69 = Ichibe (Bleach)
87 = Fuuko (undead unluck)
95 = Billy (undead unluck)
96 = Pucchi (jojo) = 96
Would love to know if you got any anime character for 80 and 81.
In my PAO, I also have Fizz, so I can’t help you there, for 81 I use Fett (Jango/Boba).

I don’t use a major system but PAO. That said, all my people (P in PAO) are fictional characters and I have no problem with it.

You might be able to use words like FaCe or FuZZ or FuSe, or FooT, FaT, FaTe…
If there is a character that exemplifies those words or attributes or that you could easily picture when you think of one of those words you could use that to call up their image instead of their actual name.

Whatever you need or find interesting… Although I wouldn’t recommend starting with a huge project. Give yourself a small win first, it will motivate you.
Also numbers are everywhere. You can just train when you’re out and about. Phone numbers, car plates, credit card PIN (so you won’t be stuck at the register unable to pay your purchase ever again), temporary codes for 2FA,… There are tons of occasions to train coding and decoding from numbers to words and vice versa.

Mine has real people in it however they are all famous, also characters and a few cartoons.
I use what I think is the O’Brien system so 0=o etc however I have changed a couple of letters as they did not flow for me.
The flow bit was going to be my point use what works for you however from experience I would say 00 = Buffy does not work as well as 00 = oo = Otto Octavius.
80 = HO = Santa (This is a good flow example as HO in my head goes to Ho Ho Ho so Santa)
81 = HA = Haley Atwell
I would check out Dr Lynne Kelly’s book Memory Craft as she has done a lot of that sort of memorising in there.
Also be prepared to ditch people as some times they just do not stick and objects and actions were a bit of a nightmare for some.

All of the fictional figures I use are both metaphorically true and the time I have spent with them is literally true.
If material reality exists, then they materially exist in the chemical bath of the brain.
