I realized these people are just giving general principles that are not useful when you start studying something in your field. These learning gurus seem to aim to sell books / youtube views to earn money.
Have you read any of their books? I’ve found them useful.
There are some discussions of their books here:
I have a slight dislike for study gurus mainly because most of their methods seem to go over my head or do not seem quite practical and for some reason the gurus generally do not seem to like memory techniques.
I have a number of books and have watched a number of videos about study techniques but alas, nothing beats ‘going to the place and doing the thing’ (Metivier). Watching study YouTube videos instead of studying is an easy procrastination trap to fall into.
Now I think of it, study techniques may also need continuous adaptation to suit individual needs and thinking styles ( therefore continuous practice!!!). Maybe I will look into some of them again.
