I’ve read through big chunks of some of the getting started pages and been watching material on the forum and other places for a while. I want to delve in deeper, but I think that having a more solid practical approach would be more helpful. Some of the resources I’ve seen seem more spotty in their coverage and don’t always make sense to me. Maybe there are just dozens of methods one needs to master and then know which methods work for which applications? I think perhaps I just need more hand-holding in the process.
Toward that end, what courses (in person, online, recorded lectures, videos) do people recommend? (Preferably which they’ve actually taken. Better if you’ve done multiple and can compare them.)
I’m planning on taking one online class coming up on hyperlink.academy which seems to have a solid syllabus based on what I’ve seen: hyperlink.academy. I’m hoping that an in person experience will be helpful as reading and imagining what’s required doesn’t seem to be as useful to me.
I’ve also seen a few local Meetup.com groups nearby, though none are active at the moment. I’m hoping they may return post-covid. Has anyone had experiences with these being useful in the past?
Are there any good comprehensive books of multiple methods with active practice involved?
I’ve scanned through a few older ones which seem fairly cheesy. I’ve started into Lynne Kelly’s Memory Craft which has lots of good advice and seems comprehensive, but I’d love to have folks to actually practice with or give advice based on prior experience which I’m lacking.
Maybe I’m just looking for a shortcut and it doesn’t exist?
Thanks in advance!
