What system would people use for memorizing all the capitals and countries in the world? I am thinking of using a Journey method (organized alphabetically) with image associations between the country name and the capital city. My first loci, for instance, might be an image of Hamid Karzai (the president of Afghanistan) kicking a bull (Kabul). And so on and so forth.
Does this seem like a good approach? Thanks.

I have used exactly this method and can confirm it works!
Good luck.

Thanks, Gavino!
Have you included any other info about the countries? Leaders, population size, etc.

Not yet, but have spaced out my images well to allow for additions when I get time in the future!
(Just in case you wanted to try a slight variation,I have read of one method where you try to get the journey to broadly mimic where the countries are situated on their continent, but I didn’t feel this was necessary for me.)

That’s interesting. Yeah, I haven’t figured out how to memorize their locations on a continent. It would be nice to really be able to visualize the various countries on Africa, for instance, and be able to “see” that Ethiopia is east of Algeria, for example. Ideally one would be able to sketch a map of a continent from memory.
