Has anyone tried creating memory journeys/palaces inside of scenes from “isometric” games like Baldur’s Gate? I’ve noticed a lot of 3D FPS games mentioned here, but not isometric or 2D games.
I had play many games in a top~down view, one is Twilight Wars. Inside the game there is many battlefields, indeed it supports creating a new battlefield by player.
I think your suggestion is good as we can get a overview of the map.But just one point not everyone likes the feeling. The rationale behind is that some people get sick of a plain view, so as some people dislike fish-eye diagram etc.
I’ve actually been thinking about exactly that: Isometric and 2D; specifically creating them to serve as memory spaces. Of course there would be learning curves and expense for creating them.
With regard to 3D, but not limited to isometric, I thought that Second Life might be a good environment. In it you can create any worlds, buildings, features, caves, etc., that you can imagine. (Of course you can also buy pre-made castles etc.) Some problems would be the expense of renting ‘land’, and the learning curve for creating your own personal spaces. But if you already build in that game, it might be a good inexhaustible source of memory spaces.
