About 3 days ago, I set up a PAO system for cards, after that, I reviewed them throughout the following days until I could recall every card. I just attempted to memorize a full deck for the first time, finishing in 12 minutes with good accuracy (I forgot one object and misplaced one image)
My end goal is to one day comfortably be able to memorize a deck or cards in under a minute. My biggest struggle recently has been my brain having to take time to think and recall the cards image (like when I see the 3 of spades, my brain’s thought process is: I know spades is a cartoon character and it starts with an M (I used major system associations for the characters) I think about it for a little before finally getting the image. I feel like this is bad since ideally you learn the cards to the point where seeing the card instantly leads to recognition of the image and I hope this association method doesn’t cap me forever and eventually I can grow out of it
I’m going to do a lot of practice in the next few weeks and I’m wondering if anyone has some advice for me, just in case there’s some things I should be doing that I don’t know about.
